How to Make Chicken Tenders with Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce

Chicken Tenders are one of the Tastiest ways one can come up with to eat chicken. The Traditional recipe allows us to personalize it with surprising flavor boosters to satisfy our palates. This version is one of the possibilities you can adapt to make chicken tenders. If followed correctly the end result of this recipe will give you the authentic restaurant vibe that you always aim for. Feel free to season it with the combination of flavors to ignite your taste buds.

Cooking Time:

      30 Minutes Active time

      45 Minutes Total time

      3 Servings

Honey – Mustard Dipping Sauce:

      ½Cup Honey

      ½ Cup Dijon Mustard

      2 Tablespoons Mayonnaise

      Salt to your Taste

      ½ Teaspoon Paprika or Pepper

      1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice

Main Ingredients:

      1 pounds boneless chicken breasts

      2 Eggs

      ¾ cup of All-purpose flour

      1 cup of Panko or other Preferred Bread Crumbs

      ½ cup grated Parmesan Cheese

      1 Tablespoon Buttermilk

      Freshly Ground Pepper to your Taste

      Salt to your Taste

      Olive oil or Butter flavored cooking spray

      1 Tablespoon Garlic Powder

      1 Tablespoon Paprika

      1 Tablespoon Salt-free Italian Seasoning

      2 Tablespoons of Melted butter


C:\Users\Bunny\Pictures\Untitled.pngTake a bowl, mix all the ingredients of honey mustard dipping sauce and whisk it well to avoid lumps. Season it with salt and pepper/paprika and lemon juice; refrigerate it until the main dish is ready to serve. Chilled honey mustard sauce will compliment the hot & spicy chicken Tenders. This can be stored for 1week in the refrigerator.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line baking sheet with foil and cooking spray.

Rinse the chicken breasts thoroughly and pat it dry. Trim off the fat (if there is any) and Cut it lengthwise, thinly like tenders.

Season it with salt and pepper. Set it aside.

C:\Users\Bunny\Pictures\Untitled2.pngIt might be time consuming but marinating chicken with spices for 30 minutes before baking makes it tender and juicy. But this process doesn’t include 30 minutes marinating.


Take three wide shallow bowls for all-purpose flour, eggs and Panko. Use rice flour instead of All-purpose flour for more crispiness.

Add salt and pepper to all three bowls. Mix 1 tablespoon of buttermilk with eggs and whisk it to form a smooth texture. Replace the buttermilk with Milk or water if you are allergetic to it.

C:\Users\Bunny\Pictures\Untitled.pngAdd paprika, grated Parmesan Cheese, garlic powder and Italian seasoning with Panko and mix it well. Adjust the seasonings with a variety of Spices to avoid the mild flavor.

Dredge each chicken piece in flour, shake off excess flour; dip the pieces in egg mix and lastly roll them in Panko mixture. Make sure each piece is evenly coated with all the mixtures.

C:\Users\Bunny\Pictures\Untitled.pngTransfer all the breaded chicken strips to baking sheet; drizzle 2 tablespoons of butter all over it and put in the over. After 10-12 minutes take the tray out and turn the pieces over, add some more butter if you like and bake for another 10 minutes. Overall it takes 25-30 minutes to cook chicken thoroughly. Adjust the baking time according to the thickness of the strips.

Take the chicken out of the oven, dress it with thinly sliced fresh basil leaves and serve this budget-friendly dish with cool honey mustard dipping sauce.
